Root Medicine Intensive

If you want to learn about herbal medicines outside on a beautiful farm while getting your hands dirty, this class is for you! Ember and Oren are kicking off the root harvesting season with this day-long intensive to spend the day sharing combined decades of experience and knowledge around everything ROOTS! In the late summer and fall the plants send their energy back into the earth and we find enhanced potency and relevance of root medicines. We have many medicinal roots that are common in the wild throughout Mi’kma’ki and easy to grow in our gardens.

In this workshop you will:

  • Learn how to harvest medicinal roots sustainably, centreing the well-being of the plants

  • Learn how to prepare root medicine including tinctures and honeys for the autumn and winter seasons (you will go home with some!)

  • Learn the details of how to harvest and use six different common root medicinal herbs: elecampane, burdock, echinacea, solomon’s seal, marshmallow, dandelion

  • Learn through your own senses and innate experience

Grow your herbal confidence so you can go home and know how to harvest and use root medicines! No previous experience necessary, all are welcome. All materials provided. Limited spots available.
